1) புதிய பாரதம் எழுத்தறிவு திட்டத்தின் கீழ் தமிழகத்தில் இதுவரை 30 லட்சம் பேர் எழுத்தறிவு பெற்றுள்ளனர்.

2) வாக்காளர் பட்டியலில் பெயர் சேர்க்க ஜனவரி 30 வரை கால அவகாசம் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

1863 ஆம் ஆண்டு இதே தினத்தில்தான் சுவாமி விவேகானந்தர் பிறந்தார். அவரது பிறந்த நாள் தேசிய இளைஞர் தினமாகக் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

1) சென்னை பன்னாட்டு புத்தகக் கண்காட்சியில் 103 நாடுகளின் பிரதிநிதிகள் பங்கேற்க உள்ளனர்.

2) தினமும் ஒரு மணி நேரம் புத்தக வாசிப்பு அவசியம் என இளைஞர்களுக்குத் தமிழக முதல்வர் மு.க.ஸ்டாலின் அறிவுறுத்தியுள்ளார்.

3) சென்னையில் டபுள் டக்கர் பேருந்து சேவையைத் தமிழக முதல்வர் மு.க.ஸ்டாலின் இன்று தொடங்கி வைக்கிறார்.
