1) 100 ஆண்டுகளைக் கடந்த 370 அரசுப் பள்ளிகள் நூற்றாண்டு விழாவைக் கொண்டாட தமிழக அரசு உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளது.

2) 4.58 கோடியில் புதுப்பிக்கப்பட்ட கன்னிமாரா நூலகத்தைத் துணை முதல்வர் உதயநிதி ஸ்டாலின் திறந்து வைத்தார்.

3) இஸ்ரேல் பிரதமர் நெதன்யாகுவுடன் இந்தியப் பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி காஸா அமைதி ஒப்பந்தம் குறித்து உரையாடினார்.

4) நிகழ் நிதியாண்டில் இந்தியாவின் பொருளாதார வளர்ச்சி 7.4 சதவீதமாக இருக்கும் என மத்திய அரசு கணித்துள்ளது.

1) வெளிநாடு வாழ் இந்தியர் தினம் (Pravasi Bharatiya Divas) : 1915ஆம் ஆண்டு இதே நாளில் தான் மகாத்மா காந்தி தென்னாப்பிரிக்காவிலிருந்து இந்தியா திரும்பினார். இதனை நினைவுகூரும் வகையில் ஆண்டுதோறும் ஜனவரி 9 ஆம் தேதி வெளிநாடு வாழ் இந்தியர் தினமாகக் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

2) ஐபோன் அறிமுகம் : ஆப்பிள் நிறுவனத்தின் ஸ்டீவ் ஜாப்ஸ் முதல் iPhone-ஐ உலகிற்கு இன்றுதான் 2007 ஆம் ஆண்டு அறிமுகப்படுத்தினார்.

3) இந்திய-அமெரிக்க நோபல் பரிசு பெற்ற உயிரியலாளர் ஹர் கோவிந்த் குரானா 1922 ஆம் ஆண்டு பிறந்த தினம் இன்று.

4) புகழ்பெற்ற உலகப் பயணி மார்கோ போலோ 1324 ஆம் ஆண்டு மறைந்த தினம் இன்று.

1) Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (Non-Resident Indian Day): It was on this day in 1915 that Mahatma Gandhi returned to India from South Africa. To commemorate this, January 9th is celebrated annually as Pravasi Bharatiya Divas.

2) iPhone Introduction: Apple's Steve Jobs introduced the first iPhone to the world on this day in 2007.

3) Today is the birth anniversary of Har Gobind Khorana, the Indian-American Nobel laureate biologist, who was born in 1922.

4) Today is the death anniversary of the famous world traveler Marco Polo, who passed away in 1324.
