Relationship between odd numbers and square numbers
Do you write and add
odd numbers in a row?
Shall we add now?
1 + 3 + 5 + 7 + 9. Find
the answer.
Does it say 25?
Adding the first five
odd numbers from one gives 25. Isn't this a square of five!
Now start from one and
add six odd numbers i.e., up to 11.
1 + 3 + 5 + 7 + 9 + 11
= 36
Isn't 36 to the square
of 6!
If we start from one
and add seven odd numbers i.e., up to 13 we get 49 which is the square of 7.
Please add it if you want.
1 + 3 + 5 + 7 + 9 + 11
+ 13 = 49
Have you found it now?
When adding odd numbers
starting from one, we count how many odd numbers we add and square that number
to get its addition.
We can call this the relationship
between odd numbers and squares.
Look at the numbers and
see how beautifully they relate to each other.
If the addition of a
series of odd numbers is squared like this, then the question arises in your
mind, how is the addition of even numbers? Find it. Let's see tomorrow.
